Taking on a plot
The conditions of a plot can vary significantly when taking one on. The example below is from a plot that had been abandoned by its previous tenant. Weeds were left to rule and it could be quite a daunting task to get this into a good state for cultivating fruit and veg.
Adam, the new plot owner has done an amazing job getting it back into shape. First of all by strimming it back and then by creating some raised beds and covering with tarp over winter to prevent weeds from coming back.
More pics will be posted next year when he gets some fruit and veg on the go.
The hard work is certainly paying off for Adam. However, the committee can put you in touch with a local gardener who charges reasonable rates for strimming, rotavating and similar jobs.
